In my experience of coaching this strata of organisations they can find it difficult to let go of the technical expert label and fully embrace the manager label. The most common change I see this level of management make following exec coaching sessions is to increase the frequency and/or consistency of face to face meetings with their team members, following some realisation of its importance. They were contracted to observe improtant events, legal transactions, etc. This was their arena and true benefit in the world he created. A truly impartial infallable witness for any event where one would be crucial for easy resolution. I wish we gad them today for all the "reality" tv shows and so called "investigative" shows at least.
